Browse Talks and ePosters

The event website and the hey ema mobile app each have a Talks list and an ePoster gallery. Use them to find a presentation from its printed programme code, narrow the programme to one track or one speaker, and keep a short list of favourites. For example, an attendee who sees EP-104 on a printed poster board can type that code into the ePoster search, open the poster, read the abstract and authors, and send the presenter a question.

Before You Start
  • Browsing needs no account. Anyone can open the Talks list and the ePoster gallery on the event website.
  • Favourites, ratings and questions need you to be signed in. Sign in to the event website, or open the event in the mobile app.
Where to Find It

Event website > Talks or ePosters

On the event website, Schedule, Talks, ePosters and Speakers are the first links in the top menu (on a phone, open the menu). In the mobile app, open the Agenda tab and tap Talks, Posters or Speakers under the header, or tap the Talks or Posters tile in Quick Access on the Home tab.

What You See

The Talks list shows each published talk with its programme code, track, speaker and time. The ePoster gallery shows each poster as a card with its programme code, track, title and authors. Opening a poster shows its content (slides, PDF pages, video, an image or embedded web content), authors, abstract and schedule, with the rating and question actions next to it.

Finding a Talk

On the event website, open Talks:

  • Search by title, abstract, speaker name or organisation, topic or track. Typing a talk's complete programme code, such as AI-OP-001, finds that talk; letter case does not matter, and part of a code is not treated as a code match.
  • Filter by Track, Format, Day, Speaker and Topic. Speaker lists each presenter in the published talks with the number of talks they give.
  • Sort by time, title or duration.
  • Signed in, turn on Only my favourites to see only the talks you have starred. The setting is kept in the page address, so a bookmark returns to the same list. If none of the listed talks is a favourite, the list says No favourite talks yet.

In the mobile app, the Talks screen offers the same search and the Track, Format, Speaker, Day and Topic filters, an Only my favourites toggle above the list, and sorting by Time, Title or Duration.

Finding an ePoster

On the event website, open ePosters:

  • Search by title, programme code, author or topic. A complete programme code finds that poster, in the same way as the Talks search.
  • Filter by Track, Format, Author or Topic. Each option shows how many posters it matches, and choosing one narrows the gallery straight away.
  • Sort By code (the default) or A–Z by title.
  • Signed in, turn on Only my favourites to see only the posters you have starred. If you have no favourite posters, the gallery says No favourite posters yet.
  • Large galleries are split into pages of 24 posters; use the page controls under the grid.

If no poster matches, the gallery offers Clear filters. Your search, filters, sort and page stay in the page address, so Back to ePosters on a poster returns you to the gallery exactly as you left it.

In the mobile app, the Posters gallery has track chips, a search that also matches programme codes, and an Only my favourites toggle, and a filter panel with Format, Speaker and Topic.

Viewing an ePoster

Select a poster card to open it. The poster page shows:

  • The poster content. Slides play in a deck player, PDF posters page through one page at a time, videos play in place, an image poster can be opened at full size, and web content is embedded. A poster with several files shows one selector per file.
  • Authors. Each author with a public speaker profile links to their speaker page. Presenting authors are marked.
  • Abstract, track and format.
  • Schedule. When the poster is part of the programme, its day, time, room and session appear, and the session links to its own page.
  • View the talk page, which opens the same presentation in the Talks section.

Use the agenda button on the poster page to save it. Saved posters appear when you turn on Only my favourites, and on your Favourites page.

Rating, Asking and Contacting the Presenter

Signed in, the poster page offers:

  • Rate — give the poster a star rating.
  • Ask a question — send a question to the presenter.
  • Contact presenter — send the presenter your name, email and a message.
  • Email it to me — send the poster to your own inbox.

If you are not signed in, the page asks you to sign in and brings you back to the same poster afterwards. The mobile app offers the same four actions on its poster screen.

Why an action might be missing

When the event runs ePoster kiosks, the website and the app offer an action only if at least one published kiosk has that action turned on. An event with no published kiosk offers all four. If you need to reach a presenter and Contact presenter is not offered, ask the event team.

This section is for event teams.

LinkAppears when
Schedule, Talks, SpeakersThe Programme & Submissions module is on for the event.
ePostersThe Programme & Submissions module is on, at least one published talk has poster content that visitors may see, and the Posters switch in Portal Configuration is on. New events start with it off.

Poster content means a file uploaded to the talk under a content type that is enabled and set to display as an image, PDF pages, a video, web content or a slideshow, whose document visibility lets visitors see it. The same rule decides the Posters tile and the Agenda Posters link in the mobile app, and the app's Talks tile and Agenda Talks link follow the Programme & Submissions module.

The four programme links always lead the event website menu, ahead of your own navigation items. If your menu already has an item that points at one of those pages (for example, a Programme item linking to the schedule), ema hides that item so the page is not listed twice; any items nested under it move up into its place. In the app, a Quick Access item you configured for Talks or Posters replaces the default tile.

The Posters switch hides the whole gallery

New events start with Posters turned off, so turn it on under Portal Config > Features when your posters are ready. With Posters turned off, the ePosters link disappears from the website and the app, and anyone who opens a saved gallery or poster link sees ePosters are not available. ePoster kiosks at the venue are configured separately.

Check Your Work

  1. Open the event website signed out and confirm Schedule, Talks and Speakers lead the menu, followed by ePosters when you have published poster content.
  2. Type a poster's programme code into the ePoster search and confirm only that poster remains.
  3. Open the poster and confirm its content, authors and abstract show.
