Indoor Wayfinding
Indoor wayfinding helps attendees move through large or complex venues without relying entirely on staff assistance.
Where to Find It
Public event page or mobile app > Floor plan / Wayfinding
When wayfinding is published for an event, attendees can open the public wayfinding page, use an embedded wayfinding view in the mobile experience, or use a venue kiosk screen.
Kiosk screens may also provide a QR code after calculating a route so attendees can continue the directions on their phone.
What Users Can Expect
- Search for a room, booth, exhibitor, or point of interest.
- Select a destination by searching or tapping a mapped item.
- Choose a starting point when one is not already known from a kiosk or QR link.
- Toggle Accessible route before directions are calculated.
- Switch between floors on multi-level venues.
- Review distance, estimated time, and step-by-step segments.
- Report a route problem such as a blocked path, wrong directions, or missing location.
When It Is Most Valuable
- large congress venues
- expo halls with multiple entrances
- venues with split plenary and breakout areas
- sites where accessibility routing matters
Best Experience Tips
- make sure venue maps are configured before publishing wayfinding widely
- verify room names match what appears on physical signage
- use QR entry points near lifts, foyers, and major intersections
- test accessible routes separately from the default route
