Reporting and dashboards
ema's reporting system gives you structured views of your event data — from registration pace to financial totals to exhibitor compliance. Reports exist at two levels: project reports that draw on a single event's data, and org-level reports that roll up across multiple projects.
The report library
Every project starts with a set of built-in reports covering registration, financials, the conference program, exhibitors, and engagement. These reports are ready to use without configuration. They have standard filters (date range, status, registration type) and can be exported to CSV or XLSX.
Use the report library when you need a standard answer quickly — total registrations by type, outstanding invoices, session attendance by track, exhibitor compliance status.
The report builder
When the standard library does not have what you need, the report builder lets you construct a custom report. You pick a data entity (registrants, orders, talks, exhibitors, etc.), choose the columns to include, set filters, and configure grouping or sorting. The result is a report you can save and return to.
Custom reports follow the same permission model as built-in ones. A user needs access to the underlying data to see a custom report over it.
Dashboards
A dashboard combines several reports on one screen. ema creates seven default dashboards for each project covering registration, financials, the program, exhibitors, engagement, operations, and an executive summary. You can also create custom dashboards by selecting the reports you want and arranging them as widgets.
Dashboards are for recurring review — opening the same set of numbers every morning, or sharing a live summary with a stakeholder. Use a single report when you need to act on its data or export it.
Sharing and scheduled delivery
Reports and dashboards can be shared two ways:
Shared links — a report or dashboard can be shared as a link. The recipient sees a read-only snapshot. You control whether the link expires and whether filters can be changed by the viewer.
Scheduled delivery — a report can be emailed on a recurring schedule (daily, weekly, monthly). This is useful for stakeholders who need a regular numbers summary without logging into ema.
Org-level reports
Some reports roll up data across all your projects in a single view — for example, total revenue across all events this year, or registrant counts by project. Org-level reports live in the org section of ema rather than inside any individual project.
What drives the data
Reports draw directly from the same records you manage elsewhere in ema. Registration reports reflect what is in the registrant list. Financial reports reflect confirmed orders and payments. There is no separate data pipeline to run or refresh — the data in a report is as current as the underlying record.
