v1.3.5 — Playable Slide Decks, Richer Report Definitions, Recording Delivery & Sign-In Fixes
Version: v1.3.5
What Changed For Your Team
This release combines slide playback, reporting, recording delivery and access improvements across your event workflows.
Uploaded slide decks now appear alongside talk information. When a speaker uploads a PowerPoint file to a slides content type, ema builds a playable copy that the speaker can check in their own portal, that your team can review from the talk's Documents tab, and that attendees can step through on the public talk page once the talk and its slides are cleared for public viewing. The Content Readiness dashboard reflects deck status as builds complete.
Reporting gains new building blocks for report definitions, API keys that belong to an operator organization now see custom project reports, and meeting recordings appear more reliably on the correct meeting record. Staff access more reliably reuses existing accounts, and the admin screens for curating platform directories now share the look and behaviour of the main workspace.
Highlights
Slide Decks Play on the Talk Page
PowerPoint (.pptx) uploads to a slides content type are converted into a
playable deck. For example, a speaker uploads keynote.pptx from the emailed
upload link; the upload page shows that the preview is being built, and when
they sign in to the speaker portal the Preview your slides card plays the
deck, with Presenter view showing their speaker notes.
- Speakers see a status for each deck — building, ready, or could not be built — and a note while the preview is not yet visible on public pages.
- Organizers can review the deck from the talk's Documents tab, restore an earlier version (which builds the deck again), and watch deck status on the Content Readiness dashboard.
- Attendees step through published decks on the talk page using on-screen controls, arrow keys or swipe, and can switch to fullscreen. PowerPoint files are never offered as a download and speaker notes are never shown.
See Talk Documents, Speaker Talk Documents and the Public Schedule.
More Flexible Report Definitions
The reporting engine behind the Report Builder now supports four additional capabilities in report definitions:
- Form questions — include answers from registration forms (registrants and registrant add-ons) as report columns and groupings.
- Buckets — group records into your own named categories using filter rules.
- Parameters — declare date or text values that are supplied when the report runs, so one definition serves many events or periods.
- Summary lines — add labelled totals beneath a report.
These are engine capabilities for report definitions; this release does not change the Report Builder screens themselves.
Meeting Recording Delivery
Recording delivery now finds the correct meeting session for affected organizations, so completed recordings appear on the meeting record. See Client Meetings for viewing recording links.
Detailed Changes
Conference Programme
- Uploading a
.pptxfile to a slides content type starts building a playable deck automatically; uploading a new version or restoring an earlier one builds it again. - The speaker portal shows a Preview your slides card on the Documents tab, with Audience view and Presenter view.
- Decks stay private to the speaker and the event team until the talk is published and the slides' visibility and review status allow public viewing. Unpublishing a talk withdraws its deck from the public page.
- The upload-link page shows the deck's build status.
- The Content Readiness dashboard and per-talk readiness views refresh as deck builds complete.
Reports
- Report definitions can include registration form questions, buckets, parameters and summary lines, as described above.
- Custom project reports are now visible to API keys that belong to an operator organization.
Meetings
- Completed recordings now appear on the correct meeting record for organizations affected by a session-lookup issue.
Staff Sign-In
- Staff access to event workspaces more reliably reuses existing accounts. Existing profiles and sessions are retained.
Platform Directories
- The admin screens for curating platform directories now use the same navigation, page styling and form feedback as the main ema workspace.
- Directories that grow large keep complete lists and exports rather than stopping at the first page of results.
- Unsaved edits and saved references are protected when a save fails or when you navigate away.
- Form feedback no longer covers the form's action buttons.
What You Need to Do
The hosted improvements take effect without configuration changes. Review the following where they apply to your event or integration:
- If you use API keys from an operator organization, expect custom project reports to appear in listings. Review any integration that assumed those reports were absent.
- Speakers see the slide preview for PowerPoint (
.pptx) uploads. If you rely on slides being playable on talk pages, review your talks on the Content Readiness dashboard before the event. - If your organization's meetings previously showed no recording link, check a recent meeting record to confirm the recording now appears.
Additional Improvements and Fixes
- SMS unsubscribe links that require confirmation retain that step when opened or refreshed.
- Finance invoice and financial order screens no longer raise spurious error reports when a lookup legitimately finds nothing.
- Connection-error handling is improved to reduce unexpected service interruptions.
