v1.5.3 — Programme Custom Fields, Saved Views, Report Downloads & Clearer Financial Records
Released: 2026-10-21 | Version: v1.5.3
What Changed For Your Team
Programme teams can now work with custom fields where they already work. Talk, session and speaker pages have a custom-fields panel with edit history, the Talks, Sessions and Speakers lists can show custom-field columns and keep private saved views, and programme reports can group and filter by more field types.
Teams that share reports get an Excel and PDF download on every public report link, a sectioned view of registration summaries, and a Registered column on full registration lists. Finance and registration staff see clearer document references, amounts and related-record names across admin screens, and buyers who return from a declined or interrupted card payment have a smoother path back to their held order.
v1.5.3 is cumulative. It includes everything in the v1.5.2 notes and earlier releases.
Highlights
Manage Programme Custom Fields on Talk, Session and Speaker Pages
Each talk, session and speaker page now has a custom-fields panel. Fields you may edit have an input; other visible fields show Read only. Editing needs permission to update the record and to edit that field. Changed values are saved together, and if a save fails your open draft stays available to correct or retry.
Open a field's history to audit who changed it. People, files and related records are chosen from the choices your own permissions allow, so a field never lets someone reach a record they could not otherwise open.
To change one field across many records, select the rows on the current page and choose Set custom field. You review the value and the affected records first. If any selected record cannot take the change, none of them are changed and your selection stays in place. See Talks, Sessions, Speaker Management and Custom Fields.
Custom-Field Columns and Saved Views for Talks, Sessions and Speakers
Choose Columns on the Talks, Sessions or Speakers list to show custom fields. These columns start hidden, and a field must be available to your role and enabled for Admin use before you can show it. Filters, ordering and page counts work with custom-field values, and records with equal sort values keep a stable order as you page through them. The Talks and Sessions lists support 250 rows per page.
Save a combination of columns, filters and sorting as a private view, such as a shortlist for a review meeting. If a view refers to a field you can no longer see, it warns you and does not restore access to the hidden values.
CSV and Excel downloads of these lists can include the custom-field columns you selected, but only for fields you are permitted to export. A failed load or download is reported as a failure, not shown as an empty value.
Excel and PDF Downloads on Every Public Report Link
Every public report link now offers Download Excel and Download PDF whenever the link's creator holds Reports: Can export. Excel holds everything the visitor sees. The PDF is a print-friendly view; very wide or long reports are shortened to fit, and the top of the PDF states how many columns and rows it shows. Download Excel when you need every column and row.
This covers standard tables, charts and KPI reports, saved registration lists, and the registration summary. Visitors now see the summary as the same sectioned tables you see in the project, and full registration lists end with a Registered column showing the date each place was taken, in the event's time zone. See Report Sharing and Scheduled Delivery.
More Programme Fields in Reports
Reports can now group and filter by programme custom fields of type URL, Email, Phone and Percent, and by Rich text fields. Rich-text answers are compared as plain text, so answers that differ only in formatting group together. Report-field access follows each reader's own field permissions. See Custom Fields and Report Builder.
Detailed Changes
Programme
- Custom-field panels, edit history and bulk Set custom field are available for talks, sessions and speakers.
- A bulk change shows the value and affected records before it is applied, and refuses as a whole if any selected record is not allowed.
- Saved views are private to the person who creates them and carry columns, filters, sorting and page size.
- If the project's event timezone clock cannot be resolved, date filters on custom fields are suspended until it is restored, rather than returning misleading results.
- If your access to a field is withdrawn while a view is open, the revoked values and private view details are removed from the screen.
Reports and Sharing
- Registration summary tables and the Registered column appear on the public report page and in both download formats.
- Excel downloads write the Registered value as a real date.
- Wrapped text in PDF tables no longer gets hyphens inserted.
- If a PDF omits columns or rows to fit the page, a note at the top says how many it shows.
Registration and Card Payments
- A buyer who returns from card payment can continue with their own held order instead of being blocked as a duplicate registration.
- When a card payment is declined, the buyer is guided to retry from their held order. Held places are released after the hold expires, and the buyer sees that the hold has ended rather than a generic failure.
- A group whose card order lapsed can be restarted. A restart that stopped part-way resumes with only the seats it did not reach.
- Fully credited cancelled bookings no longer offer their old card payment amount.
- Registration emails about group seats use updated wording and links. Review them in Email Builder if you have customised these templates.
Financial Records and Related Records
- Financial reviews separate document references, payer details and labelled amounts. Related invoices, credit notes, orders and refunds use consistent links, and confirmation views no longer show internal IDs. See Invoices, Credit Notes and Refunds.
- Report access, contracts, bills, quotes, floor-plan objects and people appear by readable names and numbers instead of raw identifiers.
- Registration changes, refund allocations, booking commissions, eligibility messages and financial email details read clearly on desktop and mobile. Long document references wrap rather than overflow.
- Records you are not allowed to open stay identified as restricted or unavailable, and no access is widened.
- Full record references can be inspected without relying on hover tooltips.
What You Need to Do
No action is required for existing events to keep working. Review these items if they apply to you:
- Programme fields: check which custom fields are enabled for Admin use and who may edit or export them, since panels, columns, saved views and downloads follow those settings.
- Public report links: download buttons appear only while the link's creator holds Reports: Can export. If visitors report a missing button, check the creator's permissions.
- Group registration emails: if you customised the group seat emails, open them and confirm the wording and links still suit your event.
- Saved reports: if you group by programme custom fields, re-run reports that use URL, Email, Phone, Percent or Rich text fields and confirm the groupings.
Additional Improvements and Fixes
- Equal sort values in talk and session lists keep a stable page order.
- The mobile navigation sheet keeps its accessibility attributes, and long attendee details stay inside the checkout review card.
- Combobox and timezone pickers handle long option lists more reliably.
- Speaker lists that look up hundreds of people at once load without timing out.
