Talk Acceptance
The Terms & acceptance page lets you review and give consent for how ema and the event team handle your talk's data.
Me > Talks > Open a talk > Terms & acceptance
Use the Terms & acceptance tab to review and update your consent for privacy, publishing, and data use.
A speaker reads the privacy and publishing terms for an accepted session and checks each box to confirm consent before the programme deadline.
Consent Options
Project administrators configure three consent options, each with its own label and content written by the event team:
| Term | Typical purpose |
|---|---|
| Privacy terms | Data privacy and handling of your personal information. |
| Publishing | Consent for publishing your talk content (title, abstract, slides, recordings). |
| Data aggregation | Consent for including your data in aggregated reports and analytics. |
Giving Consent
- Navigate to your talk and select the Terms & acceptance tab.
- Read each term's content.
- Check the box for each term you consent to.
Each checkbox saves immediately — there's no separate submit step. Unchecking a box later withdraws that consent.
Consent can affect how your talk title, abstract, slides, recording, and speaker details are used. If a term is unclear, contact the event team before checking the box.
Acceptance Records
For each term you've responded to, ema records who accepted it (your name and email) and when. This record is shown under the term and is visible to both you and the project administrators.
Recording consent and conflict-of-interest declarations are handled separately, on the Compliance tab. See Recording Consent.
Recording consent and conflict-of-interest declarations live on a separate Compliance tab. See Recording Consent.
