Getting Started as an Attendee

You're attending an event run on ema. This is where you register, get your pass, build your personal agenda, and handle anything else the organizer needs from you before or during the event.

Where to Find It

Event page > Register, or invitation email > Me portal

If you haven't registered yet, start from the event page. If the organizer already registered you, start from the invitation email instead.

How You Got Here

Two ways into an event
  • You registered yourself. You opened the event page and completed registration — for yourself, for someone else, or for a group. Your account was created as part of that. See Registering for an Event.
  • The organizer registered or invited you. You'll receive an email instead of registering yourself — click through it to sign in.

Signing In

Enter your email on your organization's ema sign-in page and enter the code ema sends you — there's no password to set. Some organizations use SSO or a shared "hey ema" account instead. See Signing In and Account Access for what each screen does and what to do if something goes wrong.

Your First Task: Find Your Pass and Agenda

  1. Open Me — from the event page once signed in, or your ema URL directly.
  2. Open My Pass for your QR code — this is what gets scanned at check-in.
  3. Open My Agenda and add the sessions you plan to attend.
First look at the Me portal

A delegate signs in the morning of the event, opens My Pass to screenshot the QR code for offline access, then browses My Sessions to add two workshops and a keynote to My Agenda before heading to the venue.

Registering for someone else stays under your account

If you registered a colleague or a group instead of just yourself, their registrations don't get their own sign-in by default — you manage them from Managed Registrations under your own account. See Managed Registrations.

Your Portal at a Glance

The Me portal covers more than check-in and agenda — schedule, networking, tasks, documents, and support all live in the same place.
