Where they work

In the accommodation area of the operator's workspace. They sit on the event side of the room block — the Hotel contact is the other end of the same relationship, and works for the hotel.

What they are responsible for

Holding inventory across several hotels, watching the release dates, and knowing which nights are genuinely selling before a contracted allocation lapses and has to be paid for anyway.

What they can do

  • Build the project's hotel list from the hotel library and agree rates and terms.
  • Load and adjust room inventory, and split it into sub-blocks for groups.
  • Watch bookings against allocation, and act on alerts before a release date.
  • Release unsold rooms back, and reconcile what was used against what was contracted.
  • Invite a hotel's own contact into the hotel portal.

What they cannot do

  • Confirm availability or apply a rate on the hotel's behalf — the hotel does that.
  • Take payment for a room; that flows through registration and the financial controller.

Journeys they take part in

These are the end-to-end chains of work that name them — the steps they own, and the ones that only affect them.
